Nashville Titans quarterback Kerry Collins confesses to The Tennessean that he has always wanted to write a hit country song. He says “I am a songwriter who has a little hobby, a second career’.

While he may be spending most of his time on the football field, the NFL star is moving in the right direction. He has just started a music publishing company, Blue Q Music and has even snagged himself a manager, Stuart Dill. Dill has also worked with Jo Dee Messina and The Wreckers to name a few. Collins got a taste on the country scene when he attended the BMI country music awards dinner.

What do you think of Kerry Collins becoming a country star, would you rather see him on the football field or at the Grand Ole Opry?

Rascal Flatts have been named GAC artist of the month. In honor of this, there will be lots of specials on GAC including a trivia challenge and the opportunity for fans to upload their own Rascal Flatts photos. We think they totally deserve this honor.

Have you gotten the chance to listen to any other their new Christmas songs? Do you like?

It’s our sisters birthday today. YAY! Happy Birthday JFK. kkhk!

We stumbled upon this post on CMT’s blog about the song “What Hurts The Most”. Apparently, Rascal Flatts were not the first to record this song.

**UPDATE**

We stand corrected. Cascada aka Chavcada was not the first person to record ‘What Hurts The Most’. Mark Willis recorded it first, followed by Rascal Flatts, then Jo O’Mera and only after that did Cascada (Chavcada) record. Thank you for correcting me!

We like the Rascal Flatts version the best… obviously.

What do you think of the Cascada version?

Country Thunder has announced part of the line-up for their Arizona show in Florence, AZ. Tim McGraw, Alan Jackson, and Montgomery Gentry will be headlining the show with Little Big Town, Montgomery Gentry, Blake Shelton, Rodney Atkins, Neal McCoy, Keith Anderson, the Zac Brown Band also taking the stage over the course of the festival. Pretty spectacular line-up.

You can buy tickets right now for a very discounted price of $99, but if you’re not sure yet if you can go, fear not, you can buy your tickets on layaway. Instead of spending $500 all at once, you can pay in three installments of $167. It’s nice to see the organizers taking the economic situation in to account.

We’ve never been to Country Thunder before, but we’re crossing our fingers we get to go this year.

Have you ever been to Country Thunder? What was it like?

This is a couple of days late, but we thought you would like to see how adorable Taylor was on Leno last Friday night. She tells him that for her birthday, she wants a boyfriend. Also, did you know that she grew up on a Christmas tree farm, so cool!

Check out her appearance below.

Taylor has also been tapped to perform on Dick Clarks ‘New Years Rockin’ Eve’ along side the Jonas Brothers.

Do you ever wonder what happened to all those people who are on country reality shows; Nashville, Nashville Star, Can You Duet, Next GAC Star? Well, check back here every Wednesday for “Where Are They Now Wednesdays”.

Do you remember the show Nashville? It was a short lived docu-reality show on NBC that followed the lives of ambitious country singers. Sadly, the show only lasted 2 episodes, but you’d be surprised to hear who was on the show, does the name Chuck Wicks ring a bell? We caught up with cast member, Lindsey Hager to hear what she’s been up to these days…

So, we’ve told you about itunes posting celebrity playlists before and we stumbled upon another one we liked.

Here is Hillary Scotts’ (of Lady Antebellum) playlist and she shares with us why she picked each song:

“Falling Slowly” - Glen Hensard & Marketa Irglova: The film is spectacular and this song has a beautiful lyric and melody. It’s like a lullaby, but yet haunts you at the same time. I strongly recommend seeing this film AND buying the soundtrack!
