Well, I’m in LA- getting moved into the apartment the show gave us to live in while we are here for the show. It’s a nice place, and I will spend the day buying supplies to get us set up here- laundry detergent and groceries and stuff. It was strange leaving Texas, not knowing if we would be in LA for only 2 weeks, or 2 months- it all depends on how far Ty makes it on the show! I hope he makes it to the end, for 2 reasons- because I want to see him do well, first of all. He has been working so hard and I’m so proud of him! Of all the contestants, I think he is the most outside his comfort zone. For a quiet cowboy to do such an outgoing, public and “metro” thing is amazing! A lot of his fellow cowboy friends are coming in to support him, so look for cowboy hats in the audience!
Cody Lambert, bull rider and saddle bronc rider, who mentored and practically raised Ty since he was 18, will be there with his wife, and the legendary Jim Sharp, two-time bull riding champion and Ty’s long time pard! Ty has joined the tech age, and has been blogging daily! Soon we will post the video of Chelsie singing “Hands” with me the other night in Highland on his site- did I mention that before? I surprised her by calling her name and getting her on stage- and she was a trooper, she sat down and sang pretty well! Her mom had flown in from Utah and was there to see it. She’s a talented girl all around and we just love her! She has a great heart and is just a great person, the kind of woman you would hope your daughter would be. Again, Ty and I felt so lucky to get such good people as partners. We have all really become friends, and I still talk to Dmitry almost every day- we have partner withdrawals!
I still can’t believe I don’t get to dance tonight! Dmitry’s new partner will be wearing my dress, and doing my routine! Waaahhh!! I wonder if she will alter it. It wasn’t showing much skin- it was leggy, but that was it- it wasn’t backless or busty or anything- but it was soooo pretty! It will definitely be hard to watch someone else do my routine, but I’m so happy Dmitry got a new partner and can still compete in the show. I was concerned I ruined his chances by getting hurt, and am thankful he is still able to show America his moves- even if it is with someone else!
So, the second reason I hope Ty makes it to the end and we stay in LA is less important, but…. it’s nice to be in LA for a little while! I get to catch up on all the girlie things, like getting my nails and hair done and getting facials and stuff that I don’t do where we live. Hey, they’re small pleasures, but a girl’s gotta pamper herself once and a while!I look forward to actually seeing a movie, and going to the Farmer’s Market and buying fresh food and flowers!
I can’t wait to see Ty dance tonight- I’m so nervous for him!!! He left early this morning for dress rehearsals and will be at the studio all day. I am gonna get ready and try to find a dress to wear that matches crutches!!!! They will interview me tonight on the show I guess, so see you all on TV tonight! Xxjewel
