Heidi Newfield played what we think was a somewhat impromptu show over the weekend in Jasper, Alabama. She performed at a breast cancer benefit, “Pink Ribbon Race for a Cure”. Yay for do-gooders.

Thanks to Heather for the heads up on this show and the pictures.

The Boot has a great article on Jimmy Wayne almost missing out on opening for Alan Jackson. Jimmy was asking to open for Alan on April 16, 17 and 18, but he had a conflict. While get could perform on the 16 and 17, the 18 was his annual benefit concert he has every year in his hometown.

Initially, he had to commit to all three shows otherwise it was a no go. Jimmy wrote Alan a letter explaining why his benefit concert was so important to him. In the end, Jimmy got the best of both worlds. He’ll be opening for Alan and still having his benefit concert.

Jimmy Wayne is always such a do-gooder. Way to give back to your community.

You should definitely check out the whole article HERE.

It’s great that so many stars are using their fame for good. Bucky Covington is currently in Kosovo on a USO tour.

From Kosovo

Hello from Kosovo!

Thought I’d give you a USO update.

We all made it just fine into Budapest and then Kosovo.  The country here is really beautiful, and meeting with the soliders so far has been really cool.  They are from all over the country, and because we tour so much, so it seems we always have some common ground to talk about.  We have our show tonight, then tomorrow it’s on to the next coutry.  I’m a little jetlagged, but I’ll catch up on sleep soon.

Did anyone make it to the Wildhorse Saloon last night? If you got any good stories send them our way, we’d love to hear about it and post. Pictures are also encouraged! We don’t live in Nashville so we have to live vicariously through our fans who live there.
