Heidi Newfield has taken to her blog to fill us in on her Christmas holiday.  Her new single is ‘Cry Cry (Till The Sun Shines)’ so all you Heidi Newfield fans, make that call to your radio stations and let’s get this song some air time. Judging by her last single ‘Johnny and June’, we don’t think she is going to have a hard time climbing the charts.

Happy New Year!

Hey everyone!

Hope you all had a beautiful Christmas holiday with family and friends. I surely did! Some of my family came to Nashville from Northern California and my husband’s family from

North Carolina. We had quite a house full…but it was truly wonderful!  We all ate entirely too much and drank a lot of “nogg” and enjoyed the spirit of the season. Just being together

and spending quality time with loved ones, made me feel all the more blessed. I have begun that yearly ritual…you know, the one where you begin to look back on the past year and ask yourself if you are on the right path…So far, so good…but i’ll let ya know the outcome after the 1st of the new year.

Martina McBride also took to her myspace page this weekend to share about her wonderful Christmas…

Christmas Blog

Hey everyone,
Hope you all had a great Christmas. I wanted to write before now, but things were just so busy and all the quiet moments were spent with family. We had a wonderful Christmas! My mom and dad came to town and spent Christmas with us. They arrived on Monday, Delaney’s 14th birthday. (She had a great birthday….lunch at one of her favorite restaurants with her family and then a sleepover with 9 of her friends). I spent the week visiting with my parents and wrapping presents! Seemed like that was a never-ending job! We also hosted a holiday open house for some friends…it was really fun and low-key and festive. I love entertaining, especially during the holidays. The house is all decorated, the tree is pretty, everything smells so good and everyone is in such good spirits. At one point during the festivities I was overcome with the realization of how many special people we have in our lives.

Taylor Swift posted a cute note on her myspace page. She was enjoying a quiet day-off and mentions an adventure in Christmas sweater shopping. Boy would we love to see those pictures!

Christmas sweaters and New Years in the big city.

Hey!

I’m sitting in my kitchen, wondering what to do today. And that brings up an interesting point.. I can’t remember the last time I thought “What am I going to do today?”. Nothing planned! So this is a nice change, and it’s been an awesome Christmas break for me. We’ll start with the wisdom teeth. Mission accomplished. They’re out. That happened a few days after my birthday (”Happy Birthday, we’re going to yank your teeth out now”) and then I was in bed for a good three days. My band was amazing, they came over and sat with me and we watched CSI. Then, I caught up on Christmas shopping all during the week before Christmas…

Thanksgiving thoughts from James Otto.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Since today is all about reflecting on the things we are grateful for in our lives, I wanted to take a moment today to say I’m so thankful for all of you–my friends and fans. This year y’all made it possible for me to live my dreams! You were with me every step of the way. You made it possible for “JGSLY” to be the most played song of 2008 through your requests, which set me up to be nominated for CMA’s “Best New Artist Of The Year.” You give me encouragement everyday, which helps me more than I can tell you. I log on here and read your posts everyday & they mean the world to me. So, I want to thank you for being my support system & my fans. I love you all! I hope you had a great day with friends and family–and lots of turkey and dressing. Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Thanksgiving, hooray hooray hooray, aren’t you glad you’re not a turkey, on this Thanksgiving Day!

(Imagine those words being sung to a tune)

We’re thankful for all the awesome country music that has surfaced this year! Oh yea, and we’re also thankful for Taylor Swift because frankly, she kicks ass!

What are you thankful for this year?

Gobble Gobble

Here’s a little round-up of what your favorite country stars are doing this Thanksgiving.

Enjoy!

•Charles Kelley of Lady Antebellum tells OK Magazine he will be spending his Turkey Day with brother Josh Kelly and his wife, Greys Anatomy hottie, Katherine Heigl and about sixty friends and family. He tells OK, “We’ve got a lot of turkeys and hams, and I’m always the one out there playing basketball and baseball with all the little nephews and nieces and all the little kids”.

•Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland tells OK she “can’t wait to taste green bean casserole”.

•One of our favorite cross-over stars who took the stage at the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade told OK “Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday - I love everything about it. Down south we have macaroni and cheese and the stuffing and turkey and collard greens, okra soup and all the stuff that I love. I love Thanksgiving. Then you get three football games. What a great day!

In case you missed Trace Adkins performance at this years Thanksgiving Day Parade, check it out below. We have to confess that we think he is lip-singing, but to be fair, we think everyone lip-sings at the parade. How cute is his family was standing by his side? Although his daughters look like they are dressed like pilgrims, they are adorable.
