Jimmy Wayne performed in Peoria over the weekend and looked damn good. Sadly, there were no gator boxers worn, but we can still imagine it was a great show.

Jimmy Wayne took to his blog to fill us in on his show over the weekend in Hammond, LA. Seems like it was quite the show, wish we could have been there.

Sadly, we weren’t able to make it down south for the show, but we managed to snag some pics of the performance. Check out the pics and Jimmy’s blogging below

Here I am gazing through a bug spotted windshield, sipping a cup of coffee waking up from a late show and hanging out with Joe C. Bush again! The first thing Joe C. said to me this morning was “Man, you sure have some dedicated fans”. I just smiled really big and said “I know! They’re awesome.” He went on to tell me how wonderful he thinks all of you are! Ha! I just reclined back, threw my Ropers up on the handrail and listened! Joe C. had a chance to go out this week and drive someone else, but he declined and decided he wanted to drive us instead! He’s a good dude! I’m going to make my way over to Knoxville and hang out with Joe C. and Engine Company 230 when they have another one of those crab boils!

We played at Chevy’s last night in Hammond, La. What a great show! The hospitality was over the top! Those folks were so good to us! We made a lot of friends there! Big Glen cooked us up a ton of grilled chicken, steamed veggies and corn! Glen Magee owns the TCB Smokehouse BBQ (985)969-2423 …wow can that guy cook!

Jimmy Wayne performed in Jacksonville and 99.9 the Gator radio station held a contest for Meet & Greet and VIP tickets. All you had to do was design a pair of boxers for Jimmy to wear. Check out the winning pair.

There are no words. Jimmy has all my respect!

The Boot has a great article on Jimmy Wayne almost missing out on opening for Alan Jackson. Jimmy was asking to open for Alan on April 16, 17 and 18, but he had a conflict. While get could perform on the 16 and 17, the 18 was his annual benefit concert he has every year in his hometown.

Initially, he had to commit to all three shows otherwise it was a no go. Jimmy wrote Alan a letter explaining why his benefit concert was so important to him. In the end, Jimmy got the best of both worlds. He’ll be opening for Alan and still having his benefit concert.

Jimmy Wayne is always such a do-gooder. Way to give back to your community.

You should definitely check out the whole article HERE.

Jimmy Wayne took to his blog this weekend to fill us in on his pretty bad-ass bus driver who is also a fireman on the side. He also included a video of his show at the Buffalo run casino and leaves us with lil gift at the end. It is quite a lovely gift if I can say so myself. Check out the video and blog post below.
Enjoy!

It’s around 6:30am and we’re somewhere in Missouri on the bus, on the road. I crawled out of my bunk and came up to the front to talk a while with the driver Joe C. Bush. He’s a cool dude. He’s one of those guys that’s actually funny and he’s not even trying to be. He’s from Knoxville and works as a fireman on the side. I always like to hear their stories. He just told me why the dalmation has always been considered the “fire dog”. They’re territorial and protective. The dalmation used to watch over the fire trucks back in the early days when they were covered in brass. We played a private show at the Opry last night with Sara Evans. Sara was very nice to me, as she’s always been. What a great singer! Nathan Chapman (Taylor Swifts producer) is producing Sara now. I can’t wait to hear what they come up with. Nathan is one of the nicest humans I’ve ever met.

(Hanging out during the day)

(11:12pm CT) Well, we just got on the bus and we’re back en route to Nashville. The show (click here) was awesome! The Buffalo Run Casino audience rocked!!!

Guys, don’t forget to go onto CMT and GAC and vote. It really helps. Please try to vote once a day. Let’s get this video into the top ten:) Ask all your friends to join in also!!!

Jimmy Wayne took to his blog today to share with his fans, big moments in his career. Way to go Jimmy!

Three defining events have taken place in my career. These events are turning points, and/or milestones, or winks from the old man above. However, just to simply spell it out, these events changed my life! They are as follows: (a) getting signed to The Valory Music Company, (b) finding “Do You Believe Me Now”, and for the third one I must intro it properly. Here goes….

(c) Today was a very big day! Brad Paisley invited me to join him on his tour beginning in June-Oct. Dierks Bently will also be with us! This invite came to me through my managers Jenny Bohler and Mike Kraski. Jenny said “Jimmy, let me start by saying “Brad”, then Mike said “Paisley”. I must have jumped flat-footed five feet off the floor! This was the most incredible news! I’d been hoping for this day to come for a very long time! Thanks Brad!

Dierks and I as well as Brad go a long way back. I met Dierks at a cookout at a friends house when I first moved to Nashville almost eleven years ago. He’s always been very cool to me. I’m looking forward to the reunion!

I hope to see each and every one of you at a show! You guys helped make this happen by giving me more than just “fanship”. You guys have been like family! All the years of support, the miles traveled, show after show regardless of me not being on top of the charts. You guys showed what a true fan really is by showing up anyway! I’ll never forget that!!!

I plan to take this thing to another level. All aboard, we’re going somewhere!!

We really made the most of our time in Nashville and spent an evening at the Opry at the Ryman theater. We got to see Jimmy Wayne and Vince Gill! So amazing! Jimmy Wayne sang his new single “I Will” and Vince Gill hosted a portion of the show. Accompanying them was a slew of bluegrass groups and some truly amazing musicians and a great group sang my new favorite song, ‘Rocky Top Tennessee’. If you’re making plans to head to Nashville, don’t forget to check out the Opry. Amazing!
